On November 2011 our beautiful friends Christine Young & Nick de Khovrine and big sister Ariadne welcomed gorgeous baby Alana to their world. In the words of her 'aunty' Carol, she was "a little trooper, an inspiration - a source of love, courage, wisdom and most of all a reminder of faith in so many ways". On 20th March, Alana went to sleep in the car as Christine drove her and Ari on the long journey to the Blue Mountains for a holiday with her parents and family, as babies often do on long car journeys, rocked to sleep by the motion and hum. To their heartbreak, on that day, it seems the Angels thought little Alana too beautiful for this Earth and called her home to them much sooner than we would have liked. By the time Chris arrived at Katoomba Alana had peacefully passed away, no rhyme, no reason, no chance for a goodbye.

Nick and Christine are aiming to raise money for Bears of Hope Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support and welcome any contribution, great or small, that you could make! Bears of Hope have been one of many support networks that have become a comfort and support in this difficult time in their lives, and one of several organisations that will be there ongoing to help them wrap their heads around this immense loss.

For every $45 raised, a Bears Of Hope Package will be donated in memory of Alana, to other parents who suffer the loss of their baby. These support packages provide an exclusive Bear of Hope keepsake, (with Alana's name on it, as a reminder that they are not alone in such heartbreaking loss), invaluable support literature and other beautiful keepsakes. These packages are the link to an incredible support network, giving parents a place to start before they even leave the hospital, their lives forever changed, their dreams irrevocably shattered.
